![]() ![]() You (directly and indirectly) say wart, I say beauty spot. What's the relevance of the "female doctor"? I bought mine with no sports chrono because a female doctor bought it new and it was low mileage. Which the build sheet says "Sport Chrono Package Plus".Īgree with Mark. I've recently bought a manual 2006 997.1 turbo and both the build sheet & vehicle identification section/sticker in the service book show the 640 option. That was the heart of the question, just answered. ![]() Well, if it was exclusively 997.1 you were researching, posting Sport Chrono Plus in the blurb was poetic bull5hit (as there is no such thing on a 997.1) Thanks for the info, it was 997.1 turbos I have looked at What gt4 said, that's how it works on each model. Last edited by GT4 on Thu 5:54 pm edited 1 time in total The Sport Mode retrofit on 997.2 includes the additional Sport Chrono Plus functions (PCM data logging and PDK launch control) except the Chrono wart. ![]() The Sport Mode retrofit on 997.1 includes all the Sport Chrono functions except the Chrono wart. Therefore, on a manual 997 there is basically no deciding factor that would outweigh condition etc between two cars. Sport Chrono Plus option is just PDK LC and data logging. Sport Chrono is the re-mapped throttle, PASM chassis, PSE (where fitted) and PSM overrides, overboost (Turbo), quicker PDK (erm PDK) and the Chrono wart. Sport Chrono Plus is a 997.2 only option (only in conjunction with Sport Chrono) Sport Chrono is a 997.1 and 997.2 option. These are two separate factory options (M639 and M640). The OP asked about the difference between Sport Chrono and Sport Chrono Plus. Not sure if this link will work properly.Ģ004 Boxster S 550 Spyder Anniversary Edition On the Turbo its called "Sport Chrono Package Turbo" with the additional facility over overboost. First thing I would always look for it in any future Porsche. This is my third 997 and I cannot believe how good it feels. Tell you one thing to look for is the sports steering wheel. Personally speaking would never use the timer but then again my car is just a garage queen? King. I have gone for the retro fit at OPC - no clock on the dash.Ĭame from a Gen 2 car with PDK and sports plus. Personally I think its better without the wart so it wouldn't swing me one way or the otherĪgree with Mark. You can retrofit it, you just don't get the wart So if you have a manual and don't race (or do race, but with a professional data logger) it doesn't make any real difference. Plus adds Launch Control (if PDK equipped) and a data logger for your lap times (this part basically pointless). Im Surfing the 997 turbo ads at the minute on the lookout, some say sports chrono package and some sports chrono package plus, is there a diffrence or are some advertisers just using poetic license?
